Mangalore : KPCC Secretary Ivan D’Souza has said that the BJP rule in the MCC in the past five years has failed to provide any welfare programmes for the city.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore on March 4, Monday he said the Congress leaders have found people virtually expressing their anguish against BJP elected representatives. He said the BJP rule in MCC has failed to ensure good footpaths, underground drainage and regular water supply. The achievements have been hike in property tax and initiating works that helped builders and not the common man.
The people are fed up of BJP rule, he said and exuded confidence that the people would vote Congress to power this time. He promised that the Congress if voted to power would set up a separate committee to implement the assurances given in the manifesto.
Ivan alleged that the BJP was trying to lure people with cash and also threatened Congress workers and said the Party has lodged a written complaint to the Police Commissioner. He said even the JD(S) has indulged in malicious propaganda against the Congress at some places.
Mithun Rai, District Youth Congress President, Ashith Pereira, NSUI District President, Michael Lobo, and others were present.
