Bangalore: The sixth ACMM Court in Bangalore has issued a non bailable arrest warrant against forest minister CP Yogeshwar in connection with the case of irregularities in Mega Developers and Builders and on charges of owning disproportionate assets.
The court which issued the warrant in connection with the Mega city case on Friday has adjourned the hearing for September 3. Police had earlier registered as many as 14 cases against Yogeshwar in the mega city cheating case. The allegation against him is that he had collected as much as Rs 64 crore from 9000 people during 1995-2006 promising sites in 500acre land near Bidadi on Bangalore-Mysore road as part of Vajragiri Township scheme of Mega Developers and Builders.
The CID had filed a charge sheet in 2010. Moreover Yogeshwar who had in his affidavit to the election commission had stated his assets as Rs 35.82 lakh worth in 2006-2007, had declared his assets at Rs 3.24 crore during the Chennapatna assembly bye-elections.
