G Parameshwar Dharmasthala : No decision will be taken individually with regard to budget and the farm loan waiver said Deputy chief minister G Parameshwara on Sunday in Dharmasthala.

Parameshwara told reporters after offering prayers at Sri Kshetra Dharmastala that he will meet former chief minister Siddaramaiah, who is undergoing naturopathy treatment.

“Any decision regarding coalition government’s budget and farmers’ loan waiver will be finalised only after discussions in coordination committee headed by Siddaramaiah.

No decision will be taken individually, either by me or chief minister HD Kumaraswamy,” Parameshwara said.

Kumaraswamy has already given statements regarding the farm loan waiver. Congress has never opposed the statements of the chief minister. Siddaramaiah had waived off farm loans to the tune of Rs 8,165 crore.

The previous Congress government also had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce farm loan waiver. Now chief minister Kumaraswamy has met Modi again and sought sanctions to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore to announce complete agriculture loan waiver in the state,” Parameshwara said.

On Siddaramaiah’s objections to new government presenting fresh budget, Parameshwara said, “We will not change any development programmes that Siddaramaiah introduced during his tenure as chief minister. We have decided that all previous schemes should be continued. Hence, there is nothing wrong in new government presenting a fresh budget.”

To a query on the purpose of his unexpected visit to Dharmastala, Parameshwara said, “My visit is just a coincidence and there is no special significance to it. Siddaramaiah is our leader and it is our duty to meet him when I visit this place. We, being political leaders, would be discussing various political issues including budget, appointment of heads for corporations and boards and many other issues. I have spoken to him yesterday and he has not expressed any concerns.”

On appointment of new KPCC president, Parameshwara said, “Party high command will take appropriate decision at appropriate time.”
