New Delhi: You will have to store up petrol now for the monthly needs of your vehicles and other uses if any, as from Sept.20, the Petrol Bunks will be on dissociation (strike) from service and you may have to wring your hands after that date. The talks with Petroleum & Fuels Minister (M. Deora) held by commission agents in oil sales and fuels have broken down. The strike is a national one. The business transactions of those who run petrol bunks may halt and take time to resume. The warning is sent out by the Petrol Dealers’ Association in the national capital.
The demand by dealers in Petroleum products is to increase their commission by at least 5 paise per litre. But on Monday last (Sept.13) Union Minister rejected the demand. In this background and context, petroleum oils dealers are up in arms and have issued a call to strike, the Association has confirmed.
The agitation may take new forms and continue, it is warned. Beware, from Sept.20, the strike will affect cashless (credit sales), deals without purchases (adjustment) and ‘no sales’ wise transactions. It means that it is a Gandhian form of civil disobedience by Petroleum dealers’ association hurt by the P&F Ministry’s non-cooperation, put into practice.
The strike is likely to hit all consumers as stocks will be sealed.
