Mangaluru: People of Dakshina Kannada have continued their unique protest against the ongoing Yettinahole project.
As the verdict of the project in National Green Tribunal is scheduled on September 21, many people people offered prayers in temples, churches and mosques in various places on Wednesday.
Netravati Rakshana Samyukta Samiti members offered prayers at
Sharavu Mahaganapathi temple. The team was led by Samiti President Vijay Kumar Shetty.
DK MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was also present on the occasion.
“People of DK are protesting peacefully for their right. They are also trying to get justice through the court. We are offering prayers to get the verdict on our side. We are fighting against the project without considering the party and caste. When it comes to water we all are one and we stand united against it,” he said.
Rosario Church priest Fr J B Crasta, temple priests Padhmanabha Ithal, Shrinivas Ithal, former MLA Yogesh Bhat, Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, Roopa D Bangera, K N Somashekhar, Denis D’Souza and others were present.
