Mysore : A 12-member team of National Security Guards (NSG) from Hyderabad inspected the Amba Vilas Palace, one of the major tourist destinations in the city, on Tuesday July 22.
The guards in plain clothes led by their SP Amit Tharoor, inspected the Palace precincts and interiors from 11 am to late evening.
They also recorded observations made during the visit, especially with the help of palace police led by ACP Channaiah.
According to sources, the NSG personnel who had last visited the Palace 19 months ago, had informed the Palace authorities about the visit, a fortnight ago.
They are expected to inspect the Palace again on Wednesday. The NSG officials, however refused to share any information with the media.
As per the previous visits, the NSG officials submit a report to Chief Secretary and Home Secretary of the State government.
During their Tuesday’s visit, they were accompanied by SP (internal security) Abraham George, Palace Board Deputy Director T S Subramanya among other officials.
