Mangalore : The various unit of National Students’ Union of India will conduct University level election at Shimoga Lagna Kalyana Mandir on September 23, Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm, said Congress leader Ivan D’Souza.
Seaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on September 22, Wednesday said that, the president, vice president, secretary and five delegates of the each colleges like St Aloysius College, Narayana Guru College, Badriya College, Gokarnanatha College and others will participatye in the election.
He also said that, Abdul Naufal, student’s union president of Badriya College will contest for the post of president along with five other students.
Ivan D’Souza also said that, Rahul Gandhi has given an opportunity for all the talented students to participate in the election. According to the present rule the students contesting must be a member of NSUI with the membership fee of Rs 10 and must have college identity card.
Around 123 delegates will participate in the election process from Dakshina Kannada, 60 delegates from Udupi and 30 delegates from Kodagu, he added.
Nagendra Kumar, Preetham Kumar, Pawan raj, Sharan Kumar, Aneesh Kumar, Prakash Shetty were present at the press meet.
