Mangalore: Nursing faculty of various colleges of Mangalore, under the leadership of PV Abhilash, an elected Senate Member of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, met Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Kodikkunil Suresh and urged him to solve various problems confronting the nursing faculty.
The delegation told the minister that the nursing faculty have a sense of insecurity as they do not have any fixed pay scale as the Indian Nursing council has not fixed any such scale. Even the admissions to local nursing colleges have reduced substantially, he said and added the Kerala Nursing Council was not ready to register students who have studied in colleges in Karnataka.
The minister assured the delegation to look into the problems and try to solve the same at the earliest.
