Mangalore : Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on October 19, Friday Pramod Alva, chief choreographer of Ocean Kids said that Mangalore based dance troupe ‘Ocean Kids’ has been selected for the semi final round of the popular talent hunt competition ‘India’s Got Talent’ telecasted at ‘Colours’.
He also said that the team has steal show and got a standing ovation for their performance of a three minute ballet from Navadurga, a mythological concept.
In the semi final to be telecasted on Sunday at 10 pm, the team with come up with another mythological ballet of ‘Ramayan’, from which the scene from ‘Sita vanvas to Sita Apaharan’ will be depicted in 3 minutes 15 seconds. A total of 33 dancers from Ocean Kids will perform in this show for three minutes.
He also said that the entire 35,000 contestant entered into the show were shortlisted to 3000 in the mega audition. Then the best 37 troupes were selected and classified into three sets taking 7 contestants in each division and the Ocean Kids are one among the first seven from the first set.
Pramod also said that they had given some concepts like ‘Historic Shakuntala’, ‘Five Elemenys (Panchabootha)’, Women Power, Agori which depicts sati and ‘Ramayan’ to the Judges and they had selected Ramayan and given some grace time for the performance since the episode must be completed.
He also urged the people of Mangalore to give the viewers vote to the team by typing ‘OCE’ sending SMS to 56882. He said that the voting lines are open only on the day of telecast from 10 pm to 10 am.
Team members like Swapna, Gautham, Vijeth Nayak and Girish were present at the press meet.
