Mangalore : After the weeks Rajasthani Food Festival flavoured in the city, the Ocean Pearl now hosts ‘Lucknowi Food Fest’ at Coral, The Ocean Pearl from March 11, Friday, said that Nagarajan J Udupa, vice president of Sagar Ratna Hotels Pvt Ltd.
He was speaking at the press meet held at Coral on Mar 9, Wednesday. He also said that the non vegetarian dishes and vegetarian dishes prepared by renowned chefs from Lucknow, specially assigned for the festival, will be the highlight of the fest.
A bygone era when this cuisine was patronized immensely by the royalty will be re-lived during the festival, he added.
Mr Udupa said that the food enthusiasts will simply be swept off their feet by the wide range of culinary delights from Lucknow featured at the festival. The ‘Lucknowi Food Fest’ offers an array of shorbas led by Tomoto Pudina Shorba (veg) and Gosht paya Shorba. For starters, food buffs get to savour Arabi ki Galoti (veg), Gosht Galoti Kabab, Tangdi Wajid Ali Shah, Raan-e- Meharbhan and Lucknowi Seekh Kabab apart from seafood delights Jhinga Meharon Nisha and Ajwaini Mahi Tikka among others.
Mr Meharbhan Khan, group corporate chef, explaining about the culinary details of the festival said that the wide array of cuisine was sure to delight the Mangaloreans. According to Mr Khan, the main course has an appetizing range of choices including Murgh Khaskaliya, Nalli Gosht, Guncha – O-Kheema and Paneer Lazeez. He also said that he would be happy to treat the Mangaloreana to the best of Nawabi food.
Among the Indian Breads, the choices include Varki Paratha, Masala Kulcha, Karare Roti and Mirchi Pyaz Kulcha. Among the elaborate preparations of rice, Lucknowi Gosht Biryani and Lucknowi Murgh Biryani feature on the menu. Shahi Tukda, Jamoon-o-Gol, Muzaifar and Phirni form the mouthwatering desserts.
Mr Udupa said that Lucknowi Food Fest is a part of a series of promotions being organized by the Sagar Ratna Group in Mangalore City. The Hotel will hold similar food festivals featuring culinary delighyts from other parts of the country and the world in the coming months, he added.
