Bantwal: The road mishaps in DK and Karnataka never seem to end, despite police vigilance and many other facilities available to road watchers.

Here in Gadiyara, near Mani on the Bangalore/Mangalore highway, on Wednesday(December 7), 2 persons died on the spot, and 5 persons(including 2 kids) were injured in a ghastly road accident.

The deceased identified by local police are 25 year old Abdul Rafiq and Sajina Banu(28), a resident of Kollum in Kerala.

Rafiq is from Puttur taluk, living at Nekkare in Mardhala GP area. Their Omni Vechicle was negotiating a steep curve near Mani, when an oncoming private bus collided with it , causing a tragedy.

Sajina’s husband  A. Aziz(28) and their children Nasriya and Nehala(both kids), and two relatives, Yakub and Hameed, were injured in the impact, and were sent to a private hospital in Mangalore. Two of them are in serious condition, doctors observed.

Yakub had come form Saudi Arabia due to sickness. All were soing to consult a doctor in Mangalore, but now the survivors are in the hands of doctors for treatment.
