Mangalore :  Onam celebrations organised by the Kerala Samajam were inaugurated by JR Lobo, former executive director of Pilikula at the Kerala Samajam School on August 26, Sunday.

In his address, Lobo said Onam is not just celebrated in Kerala but all over India and the globe and added the celebrations were not restricted to a particular community.

As part of cultural programmes. A dance “Thiruvathira”,  was presented on the occasion.

The guests were treated to a traditional ‘Onam Sadhya’(Onam feast). Winners of various contests were awarded prizes on the occasion.
