Mangaluru : Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management hosted one day leadership Development Programme for UG students. 80 students from various colleges took active participation in the programme. The day began with a brief inaugural session in the presence of Dr Sankaran, Director, Justice K S Hegde Institute of management, Mr Abhijeeth, Trainer and Unit Head-Mandamus Info Knowledge Consultants (Bengaluru) Pvt Ltd and Prof Karthik Raj Kudroli, Chief Coordinator of the programme. Prof Karthik welcomed the gathering and highlighted the purpose of the day-long event. Dr Sankaran stressed on the term Leader and Leadership and conveyed the message to students to take things very positively.
The entire day was divided into several key sessions. The first session was handled by Mr Abhijeeth whereby he emphasized on the importance of one’s ability to elevate himself/herself to be a leader. He spoke about the necessity of having a right attitude. He truly amazed the listeners by his spontaneous flow of thoughts and his experiences. The next Session was handled by Dr Sudhir Raj K, Professor, Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management,Nitte. He explained that the inherent qualities of a true leader is his memory, his commitment towards his goal, his Vision and Passion , his ability to recognize the pain and hard work of his followers, to illuminate light in the lives of downtrodden and helpless people. He said a true leader is always well informed, trustworthy, embodiment of truth and must able to communicate and inspire his followers on a personal level.
The third session was taken up by Dr K Sankaran , Director, Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte. He spoke about Higher Education and Leadership and urged the participants to come up with their analysis and decisions. He motivated students to be committed to their goals and groom themselves to be a better human being. The Last session was handled by Mr Ben SubbaRao, HR Business Partner, Mphasis. He spoke on the topic ‘Barriers to leadership’. He gave an overview about the industrial Barriers to Leadership.
The programme was concluded with a brief valedictory session which included certificate distribution and feedback from participants. The programme was hosted by Mr Savan, Final year MBA student. The programme was well conceived and executed by the chief coordinator Prof Karthik Raj Kudroli along with the team of students of final year MBA .
