Mangaluru: A man died drowns while picking up sea shells at Someshwara beach while other two with was rescued by a youth.

The deceased person is Achyutha (43) of Kumpala. He and his two friends Satish and Narayana went to Someshwara Uchila sea shore to collect the sea shells, while getting down to the sea all three started drowning into the sea.

A team of six men also arrived at the shore for the same reason and saw these people drowning. Harish (36) recued to people out of three, but he couldn’t rescue Achyuth.

It is reported that because of sand mining there was a deep depression in the shore. Achyutha didn’t notice it and stepped forward towards to pick the shell, which led to his death.

It is said that Achyutha is a coolie worker and his wife is an employee in a hospital.

Regarding the incident a case has been registered at Ullal police station.
