Mangaluru: One person injured in a petrol bomb attack on Friday night at Bastipadpu in Ullal police station jurisdiction.

Tharanarh Yadav Panjikodi (58) is the injured person. His family was with him during the attack and his wife Vidya (45) and Mithun (10) are safe.

Petrol bombs were thrown from the ventilator around midnight by the miscreants. Time sense of Taranath helped him to save his wife and son.

It is learnt that, Taranath is a social worker and he had some clashes with a gang which was peddling ganja. It is suspected that ganja mafia might have carried out this attack.

Food and civil supplies Minister U T Khader rushed to the spot as soon as he received the news and directed the police to take immediate action against the miscreants. Taranath i a good friend of U T Khader, it is gathered.

A case has been registered in Ullal police station.
