Bhatkal:A youth identified as Ibrahim Shahul Hameed lost his life and four others were seriously injured when the Maruti Omni vehicle which they were travelling rammed against a tree at Shirali near Bhatkal on the morning of July 14, Saturday. The mishap took place when the driver lost control over his vehicle.

The deceased who had returned hometown on a holiday from Muscat where he was working, was married recently.The injured are Ejaz Akbar Sheikh,the driver, Sayed Yousuf Sheikh, Arafath Sheikh and Norrul Ameen Sheikh. They have been admitted to a hospital in Kundapur.

The mishap took place when the five, all members of a single family were returning from a picnic at Honnavar. They hailed from Thattihakkal near Shirali.
