Kasargod : The police on Friday arrested one more person involved in the robbery at the Eriyal Branch of the Kudlu Cooperative Bank on September 7.
Earlier, the police had arrested the mastermind behind the bank heist and recovered 10 kg of stolen gold.
Shanawas alias Shanu, 22, a resident of Chowki here, was arrested by a police team led by Kasaragod Dy.SP T. P. Ranjith when he was coming out of a beer-wine parlour on Friday night. .
Shanawas, who had been absconding and was reportedly in Ernakulam, had returned here after the prime accused, Muhammed Shareef, was arrested by the special squad.
According to the police, Shanawas was among the six who entered the bank and decamped with valuables, including cash of Rs. 5.13 crore.
With the arrest of Shanawas, the police have so far held three accused in the robbery case.
The police are on the lookout for five more suspects, they said.
