Padubidri: Padubidri police have arrested notorious house thief who was released recently from the jail on Thursday morning at Mudarangadi.

Rajesh Devadiga (35) of Yellur is the arrested person. He was convicted in many theft cases since 2013. One month before he was released from the jail and again two theft cases was registered against him at padubidri police station.

Upon interrogating him police have found that he was involved in a theft case took place on July 12 and he steal Rs 4400 from a wallet. Moreover he had broken the CCTV cameras of the house. His face was clearly recorded in the camera.

He further revealed that he was also involved in another theft case at Ucchila. There he had stolen a ‘Mangal soothra’ of worth Rs 18000, a ring worth Rs 3000 and a Samsung Deo mobile phone worth Rs 3000.

Police have recovered the stolen items from Rajesh’s home.

A team led by karkalla ASP Dr Sumana conducted the operation.
