Brahmavar:  Open quarry pit has claimed one more life. This time in Saibarakatte, Brahmavar. Thirteen year old Akshay Kumar, son of Kushala Poojari of Janatha colony, met a watery grave when he along with his friends had been to the quarry on October 8, Monday.

Akshay was accompanied by his friends Suresh and Srikanth, all students of Saibrakatte Primary School. Not having any knowledge on the depth of the quarry, as the children began to drown, two were rescued by the women who were washing clothes nearby, while Akshay met a watery grave.

Brahmavar police have registered a case against the quarry owner.
