Udupi: Opposition is trying to defame the government by politicising DySP Ganapathi suicide case, said Minister for Fisheries Pramod Madhwaraj.

Addressing the media personnel he said that DySP kallappa and Ganapathi suicide cases were unfortunate incidents. Suicide is not a solution for any problems.

“Even after handing over the case to judicial probe and claiming George’s resignation, oppositions are misleading people by giving false statement,” he said.

“Congress government have handed over eight cases to the CBI in past three years. When BJP government was ruling the state the opposition had demanded for 13 cases to hand over to the CBI, but BJP didn’t approve the demand. Congress has faith and respect on the investigsting agencies. Why BJP is mum on DySP Kallappa’s suicide case?” he questioned.

He further said that suicides of police personnel are not a new thing. When Kumarswamy was the CM 24 police committed suicide. During Yedyurappa’s tenure the number was 13 and during Jagadeesh Shettar’s tenure it was 17.

“BJP and JDS are throwing stones on Congress by sitting in glass house. Opposition don’t have any moral rights to speak about Congress leaders,” he added.
