Oriyardori Asal-is the costliest Tulu film in local history: Producer

Mangalore: In the entire history of Tulu films, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail’s latest comedy film “Oriyardori Asal” is reputed to be a costly production, and it is likely to be released in May 2011 in Mangalore and other Tulu centres on the West coast such as Puttur.
A comic drama staged for years in Mangalore and elsewhere, is now fashioned into a high grade comedy in 2011. It has a unique style of presentation of its own. It has been given U certificate, after its editing, dubbing, and music composition mixing etc, and the film is ready for release by May end.
The Tulunad arts and culture, land and pastures are strikingly delineated in this new film, which has funny scenes of conflicts and misunderstandings between a landlord (house-owner) and his tenants on rent, explained writer V.K Kodialbail.
Likhit Shetty(Hebri) is hero and acts as the son of a tenant, while Ramya Berna(Madikeri) does the role of the house-owner’s daughter. Naveen D Padil has a stellar role as a Bhajane Basappa and Arvind Bolar shines as a corporator (Kanthappa). Rajesh Bantwal (a comedian) is a car driver. There are eminent names of Kannada filmdom in this film, like M.N Laxmidevi, Rekha Das, Sathyajeet, musician Gurukiran, Yakshagana artiste Bantwal Jayarama Achar and others.
Ha. Su. Rajashekhar has directed the slick film. A.K Vijay is in charge of musical score. There are five songs sung by Udit Narayan, S.P Balasubramanyam, Nandita, Gurukiran, Rameshchandra and Sangeetha Balachandra.
The musical CD’s have already arrived in market for brisk sales, and listeners like the lilting lyrics set to music. Madan – Harini have done the choreography on songs.
A single stunt thriller scene of fights has been shown by Thriller Manju with acrobatics in the film.
Ms. Roopa Vijay Kumar has produced the enchanting film under the Roopalaxmi banner, with due assistance from Kumar N. Bangera of Kumar International Movies, Muumbai.
The shooting was done in Mangalore, and Bangalore-Kanteerava /Abhiman studios, besides Nandi Hills and in Mumbai metropolis. Editing is entrusted to ‘Jogaiah’ fame Srinivas A. Babu. ‘Gooli’ P.L Ravi has handled the camera work.
DTS sound has been used in this film, likely to be shown in Mangalore (Jyothi Talkies) Adlabs, Puttur, Udupi and Moodabidri simultaneously, through UFO satellite and prints.
The Tulu film history covers 40 years, but this picture is of the biggest budget so far, said the main force behind the venture, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, speaking to Mega Media News on May 18. He hoped the film will cross 100 days of run, once it is released.
