Mangalore: Oscar Fernandes, Rajya Sabha member and former minister has suggested AMUCT members to place their suggestions towards improving the National Commission for Higher Education and Research Bill, before a government panel which would soon be visiting Chennai or Trivandrum.
He was speaking at a convention on higher education organized by the Association of Mangalore University College Teachers (AMUCT) in Mangalore on July 1, Sunday.
Earlier in his address, Dr Narahari, AMUCT leader had placed before Oscar several suggestions with respect to the bill which would prove more beneficial to the education system.
Oscar said the bill aimed at improving the quality of education. The AMUCT Bulletin was released on the occasion. Among those present on the occasion were Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University Prof. TC Shivashankermurthi, Dr Kamalamma V, Director of Collegiate Education and Manjula KT, Principal of Besant Women’s College.
