Mangalore. Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes is learnt to have asked the Deputy Commissioner to visit the Phalguni River banks at Kulur where the MSEZ had encroached the river by dumping mud.

Oscar who visited the area on May 5, Saturday spoke to the locals and had a firsthand account of the problem and assured the residents that he would instruct the authorities to get the mud dumped unauthorisedly removed.
 
Vijaykumar Shetty, former Suratkal MLA, P V Mohan and other Congress leaders accompanied Oscar.
