Mangalore: The local historical and famous Milagres church of Roman Catholic celebrated its annual feast of Our Lady of Miracles on Sunday, July 3

Fr.Francis D’Almeida from St. Aloysius College celebrated the festive Holy Mass. There was a cultural programme attended by many devotees in the adjoining Milagres Jubilee Hall, as part of the event. Student achievers received prizes on the occasion. Allan Pereira, retired CMD of Bank of Maharashtra was honoured with a howl, a citation and gifts.
Pereira, while replying to felicitations, referred to the tendency of young people looking for employment outside India, when the country had become an economic power with external investments flowing in here in billions of dollars and Bangalore as It centre of the world. He asked for an employment demands in Mangalore. He suggested a helpline, for youth seeking career guidance and expert advice. Devotees enjoyed a skit ‘Gondol’, put up by Parish members on the occasion.
