Mangalore : Residents of Pachanady and Santosh Nagara  area on a war path against the apathy of the Mangalore City Corporation towards their problems. They are complaining that they cannot lead a normal life due to the foul smell emanating from the garbage yard due to rotting garbage and the failure to clear the waste water inside the garbage yard’s compost plant.

The local corporator Kavitha Sanil also alleges that the MCC has failed to act despite repeated appeal.

The locals are facing health hazards and life has become miserable. They cannot move without covering their noses. The waste water from the yard is also seeping into the nearby areas and contaminating nearby wells, complain villagers.

It is also complained that so far the corporation officials have only given promises but have failed to come to the aid of the residents and solve their problems.
