Mangalore : Works on the much demanded underpass at Padil in Mangalore would begin by  November this year. The Divisional Railway Manager Piyush Agarwal has given an assurance  in this regard at a meeting of MCC officials and railway officials held recently.

This was informed by MCC member Vijaykumar Shetty at a meet organized by the  Railway Bridge  Struggle Committee  of Padil near the Padil Railway Gate on May 31, Thursday. Shetty said protest would follow if the promise made by the railway authorities were not fulfilled.

The participants  were informed on the deliberations of the May 29 meeting. Once initiated, the works are expected to be complete within eight to ten months.

The May 29 meeting was attended  among others by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat and others.
