Bangalore : The Karnataka High court on Tuesday September 16, 2014 passed an order to re-investigate the case of Padmapriya’s death, alleged to have been committed suicide in an apartment in New Delhi in 2008.
As per the order, the re-investigation of the case also includes filing of a fresh charge sheet against the accused.
It is learnt that, Padmapriya, wife of former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, was found dead in the mysterious circumstances in an apartment in New Delhi. The death was suspected to be the suicide.
The verdict was given by the Court after Raghupathi Bhat, filed an appeal to the high court against the non-inclusion of serious charges in the charge sheet against the accused.
Bhat’s advocate Pradeep Kumar, said that High Court Judge, Justice Ananda Byrareddy, had ordered to conduct reinvestigation of the case and file a fresh charge sheet.
Previously, CoD officials investigated the case and a charge sheet was filed in Udupi JMFC court.
