Mangalore: The Padua Degree College was inaugurated by Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof.T.C. Shivashakar Moorthy on Nov 25. Addressing a large gathering he stressed upon quality in educating children. A new building was opened by Bishop Rev. Aloysius Paul D’souza of Mangalore who presided, while former correspondent Fr. Peter Noronha inaugurated this function.
Prof TCS Moorthy opened the various classrooms at the new building as well.
Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC, opened the Library, while MLA (Karkala) A. Gopal Bhandar inaugurated the auditorium hall. City corporator Roopa D. Bangera launched the new office of the Padua College. Catholic Education Board secretary, Fr. Wilson D’soza opened the computer laboratory.
Correspondent Fr. Antony Serrao welcomed the gathering. Headmaster Francis D’souza presented the report on the college. Several educationists and administrators were present.
College students presented cultural programmes towards the end.
