Mangalore : Krishna J. Palemar, District-in-charge Minister distributed the scholarships of Rs.12 lakh among 220 PUC, degree, and PG students at the BCF Educational Scholarship Meet Mangalore 2011 at the function held at Loyola Hall of St Aloysius Pre University College on July 24, Sunday.
The programme was organized by the Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF).
President of BCF Dr. B. K. Yousuf, presided over the programme and said that the BCF will focus on empowering the Beary community of coastal Karnataka by promoting education and eliminate poverty.
MLA U. T. Khader, BCF Scholarship Committee Chairman Dr. Kaup Mohammed, Beary Welfare Association President N. B. Aboobakker, BCF General Secretary B. M. Farooq, Islamic Cultural Centre General Secretary B. M. Mumthaz, DCC Minority Cell Chairman B. A. Moideen Bawa, Muslim Educational Institutes’ Federation President Mohammed Beary, and Akhila Bharatha Beary Parishad President Abdul Majeed Saralpady were present on the dais.
Shareef Neermunje, the noted Beary singer, entertained the audience.
