Mangalore: District-in-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar launch the Government initiative ‘Shaalegagi Navu Neevu’, at Government Higher Primary School in Munchuru on July 5, Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the state government will provide all the required furniture and sports equipment to government schools.
He also said that, the programme organised by the state government have succeeded in reducing the number of students dropping out of schools.
DK has 3.60 lakh school kids at present and that 33 government schools have been opened in the past 2 years and that 533 classrooms have been constructed by spending Rs. 19 crore. He also said that 28 high schools have been newly constructed in DK during the past years by spending Rs. 12 crore, he added.
He urged the parents to send their kids to government schools instead of spending money on private education.
C. Chamegowda, the outgoing deputy director of public instructions of DK, was felicitated on the occasion.
Janardhana Gowda, the president of the ZP Social Justice Stating Committee; Moses Jayashekhar, the new DDPI; and many others were also present.
