Mangalore : ‘I will resign from the post, if the accusations leveled against him regarding the illegal export of iron ore from the Belekeri are port proved to be true, said District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar.
Speaking at the press conference held at circuit house on July 10, Saturday, he said that he was the one who recommended the suspension of Forest Officer Gokul, who had taken away the illegal iron ore in an irresponsible behavior after conducting the investigation. Later, when Gokul was failed to attend the meeting organized to discuss the matter, he had written to the chief minister regarding the issue.
Further the COD and the Lokayukta will be soon submitting their reports, and if the allegation on him found to be true, he will resign from the post, he said.
Pointing out the solution for sea erosion problem, he said that the Asian Development bank has released Rs. 911 crore for solving the problem. The amount of Rs. 223 crore of it has been allocated for the Ullal project to provide a permanent solution and the work is expected to start very soon.
