Mangalore : Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat inaugurated the three-day Beach Festival and Food Fest organised as part of the Karavali Utsav, at the Panambur Beach on January 25. A pigeon was let to the air to symbolically inaugurate the fest.
Speaking on the occasion, Yogish Bhat said the government has several tourism development projects on anvil in the coastal district which are known for their pristine beaches. He also spoke on the proposed 2-D planetarium, aquamarine park and a golf court and added all are in the tender process. He also stated that the Beach Fest will go a long way in tourism promotion.
Deputy Commissioner N Prakash who was also presented heralded the beginning of the event by flying a kite.
Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Harish Kumar, Assistant Commissioner MV Venkatesh, Deputy Mayor Amitha Kala, Yatish Kumar Baikampady, CEO of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project and others were present on the occasion.
The Beach Fest attracted a large number of people on January 25 and is expected to attract over two lakh people in the next two days. The festival will conclude with a musical presentation by Euphoria band.
