Mangalore : A youth  identified as Rakesh (19) from Rajajinagar in Bangalore, who was drowning in Panambur beach on May 31, Saturday, was rescued by the Panambur Beach Life Guards.

The youth, a first PUC student of KLE College, Bangalore  had come to the beach with his friend Hemanth and had ignored the warnings  of the Beach Life Guards not to swim at  the spot where rip currents were high. But, the youth ignored their advice and soon Rakesh was drowning and rescued by the Life Guards, said Yatish Kumar Baikampady, CEO of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project.
