Mangalore : Pandeshwar ASI Srikala who had lodged a complaint with Mangalore Police Commissioner accusing DCP (South) TR Jagannath of harassing her, has now complained with the Women’s Commission on the issue and has sought justice.
The complaint stated that the DCP has been harassing her since the past four to five months making it difficult for her to discharge her duties and her family commitments.
Srikala alleged that the officer used to summon her to his cabin and used derogatory words and ordered ‘right about turn and quick march’.
Srikala’s complaint also stated that the ACP has been denying her weekly off and other leave facilities. Even producing medical certificate for sanction of leave has been of no use, she said.
She said when she sought leave on October 31 last year owing to illness, the ACP had asked her why she could not opt for voluntary retirement instead of asking leave. Even bringing the matter to Pandeshwar inspector has been of no use, she said and added the ACP also denied her leave on May 18 to visit her native place Kottayam.
She also alleged that the DCP used to put her on night duty and also night rounds without any vehicle facility and added she was bitten by a stray dog at Mahakalipadu. She said while she had night duty she had to lock her house from outside leaving her two little children inside and demanded justice.
