Mangalore: Pandeshwar police have arrested, Deepak  a software engineer from Kinnigoli who has refused to marry  the girl with whom he was engaged, just a day before the . The girl  is a lecturer in a college in Mangalore.

The engagement had taken place two months ago, and Deepak citing reason that the girl had an affair with someone else, had declined to marry her.

Now, when everything was arranged and the groom said no, a police complaint was lodged with the Pandeshwar police  who have taken Deepak into custody. It has been learnt that a neighbor of the girl, Megharaj had well before the engagement had expressed his desire to marry her, but she had turned down his proposal.
