Mangaluru: Birth anniversary of former and first Prime Minister of India Pandith Jawaharlal Nehru was observed by District Congress Committee on Monday at Congress office.
Speaking on the occasion Interim District Congress President Kodijal Ibrahim said that Nehru laid foundation for the concept of modern India. He introduced the five years plan and which is running successfully than any other schemes.
“After demonetising the currency in India our PM flew to Japan. Poor and needy people are suffering due to the government policies. But Nehru was known as messenger of peace. BJP has no rights to ask Congress what it has done in past 60 years,” he said.
He further said that a huge convention will be held in Mangaluru on the occasion of Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
“Congress will fight the election by keeping developmental works done by the government in front of the people. Surely Congress will win 130-140 seats in next election. We all know that DK is the stronghold of Congress,” he added.
