Mangalore : A six-day cricket tournament  Paradise Cricket Fest-2013 will be organised by the Paradise Club, Krishnapura  from January 1, Tuesday. Rajya Sabha Member and Senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes will inaugurate the event  at  6 pm at Paradise Club ground in Krishnapura.

Informing this, BA Moidin Bava, President of the Club as well as the District Minority Cell of the Congress,  said a total of 57 cricket teams will take part in the event.

The inauguration will be followed by  a friendly cricket match between Moidin Bava team and DCC President Ramanatha  Rai led team.

 The flood lit tournament is expected to be witnessed by around 10,000 spectators. The finals will be on January 6 and the winning team will walk away with a cash prize of Rs one lakh while the runner up will get Rs 50,000. Moidin Bava said rice will be distributed to 2000 people and sarees to 500 women during the event.
