Mangaluru: “Revenue Minister has ordered the Tahashildars to receive applications regarding providing the land deeds to paternity lease holders. Process of receiving applications with this regard will begin soon,” said Chief Whip of government in legislative council and MLC Ivan D’Souza.
Speaking to the reporters on Monday at his office in MCC he said that President of India has signed the amendment made to paternity lease article 2011, on July 13, 2012. The new amendment has been implemented on December 20, 2012.
“In Karnataka the amendment has been officially implemented on November 7, 2016. So, to implement the scheme Revenue Minister has passed orders to the Tahashildars of Udupi, DK districts. This will help more than one lakh families of Dakshina Kannada district,” he said.
Further commenting on ban on Kambala by the state High Court he said that Jalli Kattu (a traditional sport and Kambala are not same. The government had permitted to conduct Kambala without hurting the animals used in it.
“We are hopeful that the court also will find the positive things in Kambala sport and it will pass order to allow Kambala without harming the bulls,” he added.
