Mangalore: Addressing the valedictory session of a month long religious event ‘know the pbuh(Prophet’ of Muslims) held by New Age India Forum in Mangalore on Friday the former Supreme Court Judge and retired Lokayukta, N. Santosh Hegde contended that no religion advocates greed or snatching away someone else’s property for selfish benefits, and that people should know the value of contentment, which does not come by grabbing what belongs to others.
The feeling you get out of what little you earn by legitimate means is that contentment which does not make you a sinner, he added.
When people stop being human and turn inhuman, they actually do not represent their religion, he elaborated. Hegde released a book on Prophet Mohamed on the occasion, written by Rafiyuddin of NAIF( New Age India Forum).
Dr. M.M. James of BTL Institute said Prophet Muhammed built a community, and removed economic inequality through the system of Zakath and also by abolishing interest on loans or capital. He also initiated co-operative principles, Dr. James stated in praise.
Editor of ‘Vartha Bharathi Kannada daily, Abussalam P., presided over the meeting. He said the ‘Pbuh(Prophet) lived a poor man’s life even after becoming the head of a state. He taught human dignity to people and abolished traditions.
