Mangalore: Udupi Pejawar Mutt spiritual leader in politics has sought an audience with CM Yeddyurappa, demanding closure of Udupi Power Corporation, which could not solve the menace and problems created by release of fly ash in the atmosphere while producing 100 MW of power everyday in Udupi for the coastal people. The seer is on a continuous fating attempt, to solve the problems related to UPCL with the state help.
In his letter sent on Wednesday to CM with love, the 80 year old Pejawar activist informed that in his opinion, the UPSC should be closed down in larger interests, until the fly ash problem is set at rest.
UPCL should follow all pollution control norms; he told CM and use latest technology to contain atmospheric pollution. He demanded a permanent monitoring committee on the issue, to save lives. The seer was eager to end his fast, once the UPCL solves its problems and stops harming the public on the coast.
