Mangalore: AG. Kodgi, the chairman of the third state finance commission said that all files and applications of various issues which is left pending in various departments from the district administration to the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) must be sorted out within a week time.
Speaking at the commission’s review meeting held at MCC Council Hall on July 22, Friday, he said that the civic body must maintain water supply meters properly since there were many complaints lodged with the MCC opposition leader Lancelot Pinto, about the poor working conditions of these meters and other billing problem.
Speaking about the revenue generation through advertisement, Kodgi said that nobody should display ads, flex boards, and hoardings without the MCC’s permission, urging the civic body to impose fines on those who violate the rules.
He also said that the MCC tops all the other city corporations in the state in the matter of developmental projects launched by the civic body.
He expressed his satisfaction over civic body’s move to implement scientific methods of waste disposal within its limits.
Dr. Mahendra S. Kanti, the member of the commission, Mayor Praveen, Deputy Mayor Geetha Nayak, DC Dr. Channappa Gowda, and many other officials were present at the review meeting.
