Mangaluru: To end the the time being taken to get approval of site plans from the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), the State government will shortly bring in an online system to get the approval.
Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Urban Development and Housing Minister U.T. Khader said that with the new software, people can submit the plans, survey sketches and property documents online.
“If the plan is in accordance with the zonal regulations and conforms to the norms, the applicant will receive approval immediately,” he said.
This single-site approval document has to be produced before the Mangluru City Corporation for issuing building licence.
Mr. Khader said the modalities of the new software was being finalised by the Urban Development Department.
Mr. Khader said the government was also going ahead with automation of files in urban local bodies. Mr. Khader said ₹7.5 crorec has been spent on developing a new IT system that will track the movement of files.
“We hope to see working of the new software from August 15,” he said.
Commissioner of Mangaluru Urban Development Authority K. Srikanth Rao said MUDA has already put in place a system to help people to track files.
