New Delhi : D.V. Sadanand Gowda, who has accepted to became Karnataka Chief Minister ‘accidentally’ over two months ago, is today feeling confident of leading the state towards progress and transparency and disclosed that he will soon install a video camera in his working office.
In an exclusive interview with Asian News International, Gowda said he has also planned a counter in his office, which will operate for 24 hours, and Chief Minister’s office will also receive complaints from any corner of the state at any time and there will also be a video camera in his working office.
“Anybody can see with whom the chief minister is interacting, adding that these plans would be sorted out within a week’s time,” he added.
He further said special steps have been taken to bring transparency in the running of the state, among which is the speedy disposal of files, transparency in administration and identification of priority projects and their completion is the major issue.
“ I have started from my office. When I assumed charge there were about 4000 files pending; now I have cleared off everything. In my office, there is no file more then 10 days pending. I started from my office. I wanted to show a transparency in that, for that reason I am bringing a citizen charter; any officer who keeps the file for more then 10 days, he will be penalized,” said Gowda.
Praising law and order situation in the state, Gowda said the situation at present is extremely good in the state as compared to last two-three decades.
With regard to employment generation, Gowda said: “Since last three and a half years, the government has created more than three lakh jobs in Karnataka. Steps have also been taken to boost farm production, ensure welfare of farmers and attract investments in the State.
