Mangalore : The members of Mangalooru Yelupatna Mogaveera Samyuktha Sabha (MYMSS), an association from various places observed a Samudra Pooja to appease the god of sea at Tannirbhavi Beach on August 13, Saturday.
A large number of people belonging to the fishing community participated in this event, held under the guidance of Kadri Shri Suvarna Kadali Mutt Pontiff Shri Raja Sandhyanathji.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Raja Sandhyanathji said that this age old tradition will please the sea god to bless the fishermen and grant them peace and wealth.
The devotees offered coconuts, milk, and flowers to the sea god as part of the rituals.
Deputy speaker N. Yogish Bhat assured the people to complete the ropeway project within 3 years.
