Mangaluru: Residents of Doddamane on Bangrakulur blocked the way of garbage handling vehicles which belongs to Antony waste management company, on Sunday. Protestors demanded the repair of the road and not to dump the waster at nearby area.

Protestors and the waste management company people involved in heated argument during the protest. The protestors were convinced after Kavoor station SI Nataraj intervened into the matter. He spoke to the concerned authorities and succeeded in convincing the protestors.

Locals said that they will drag the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by writing a letter to him regarding the failure of local governing bodies.

Locals further said that due to dumping of waste in nearby area many people suffered from Dengue and Malaria. Moreover the company parks nearly 167 vehicles at the spot, causing lack of space for parking to local people’s vehicles.

Locals further threatened the authorities to boycott the coming MCC and assembly elections if their demands are not fulfilled.
