The Permude GP secretary Murnalu stated that MSEZ did not obtain a licence from the Panchayat for the works taken up at the Kudubi Padavu, and he ordered to stop works immediately. TP officials and Bajpe inspector visited the area to know the facts.
The local people were anguished by the way MSEZ workers had carried out works they had destroyed local crops in fields. No compensation paid. The Panchayat demanded explanation from MSEZ on this issue. Cases would be filed against MSEZ under Panchayat Raj Act of 1993 (section 64) if it did not reply soon, the GP secretary added.
