Mangalore:  Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat and senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary visited Holy Hill Shrine at Nantur in Mangalore which was targeted by unidentified assailants on Sunday night.

Speaking to reports later, Yogish Bhat who condemned the attack in the strongest possible words and said the culprits would be brought to book. He said such incidents which hurt the communal sentiments of the people cannot be tolerated.

Janardhan Poojari who too spoke to reporters after his visit, said the incident was pre-planned and added the assailants had disrupted peace and sanctity of the place. It aimed at disturbing communal harmony, he said. Naveen D’Souza, Nagendra Kumar, Corporators, Deepak Poojari, Opposition leader in MCC accompanied Janardhan Poojari during the visit.
