Mangalore : A Mangalorean was among the two persons who were apprehended at the Kochi Airport by customs officials for unauthorized possession of cigarettes worth nearly Rs 6 lakh.

The arrested are Mohammad Majeed of Mangalore and Mohiuddeen of Gulbarga. The two had nearly 359 cartons of cigarettes hidden in their baggage. The two had arrived at the Kochi airport by a flight from Dubai
This is the second time that smuggling of cigarettes has been detected at the airport.
