Udupi: A 72-year-old man missing from past three months was found dead on Sunday at Jathabettu, Uppur.
John D’Silva is the deceased person. He was a resident of Baikady Bhadragiri.
He had left his house on May 26 to pay the telephone bill at Brahmavar. After that he went missing and his wife Leena D’Silva filed a missing complaint at police station. Police and family held a combined search for the deceased which went in vain.
On Sunday September 11, upon receiving a call, police went to jathabettu forest and inspected the skeletons. Police came to a conclusion that the skeletons were of John D’Silva, based on the dress found at the spot.
The police sources have said that as John had memory related problems and he might have forgotten his way back to home. He might have collapsed and died after that, or the wild animals might have hurt him.
