Mangalore : District-in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai regretted for not making up time to visit the bereaved family of cattle trader Kabeer, due to personal pressure.
Addressing the press meet held at Congress office on April 21, Monday, he said that senior leader B Janardhan Poojary and Minister U T Khader have paid visit to the house of Kabeer and extended support and co-operation from the state government to investigate the valid reason of the shootout.
Rai also said that MLA Mohiudeen Bava has also stood with the family and trying to console the family by providing justice.
He also said that Home Minister K J George will also visit the family of Kabeer, 23-year-old youth from Jokatte, who was been killed by the ANF police.
The Government has ordered a CID probe into the case and announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakhs to the family of Kabeer and furher he will discuss the matter with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about enhancing compensation amount.
